Biography

Derek Barba’s career in personal injury defense began over 25 years ago.

In that time, he has handled all aspects of litigation including claims of personal injury – from automobile accidents and slip and falls to negligent security and wrongful death. Derek has tried over 35 jury trials across Florida. Derek is fluent in Spanish and has handled multiple cases where Spanish-speaking defendants have gone to trial.

Before SSE Legal

Derek earned a Bachelors Degree in English Literature and International & Comparative Studies from the University of Miami and completed his J.D. at St. Thomas University School of Law.

Beyond SSE Legal

Derek enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with family and friends. He can be found enjoying great food or spending time with his loved ones around the pool.
